It is legal to carry  a handgun in Virginia, either openly without a permit, or concealed with a Concealed Handgun Permit. Why should it be illegal to carry on any state property? It is legal to carry handguns in the Capitol building in Richmond, why should it be illegal to carry in a State Forest? My life, and that of my wife and children, is precious. Why should I not be able to protect myself in a State Forest that my tax dollars pays for? The Supreme Court of the United States recognizes the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as an individual, Constitutional right. I do not believe the Commonwealth of Virginia should be in the business of denying anyone his rights under the Constitution. Say YES to freedom. Enact this petition.
