As a law abiding and proud resident of Virginia, I would like to ask that this petition is approved.  After reading some of the previous comments, this isn't really about gun-slinging folks out for another right to carry weapons in state parks, it really comes down to those thugs out there who are not law-abiding and prey on those who cannot protect themselves as would be the case in Virginia State Parks.  If you do any research on the trends of crime in both State and National Parks, some....not all parks are perfect hangouts for gangs and their gun-power and types of weapons that they carry with them even outweighs those who are there to protect the rest of the law-abiding visitors.  I feel that there has to be a balance, and thugs who victimize others in parks will think twice knowing that they just might run into someone who can defend themselves with either an open carry or concealed weapon.
