I apologize for not being eloquent.  I am just an everyday person that enjoys hunting and fishing.  However, I find it strange that while I wore a Deputy Sheriff's badge I was required to be armed at all times.  Now as a civilian, I know that law enforcement can not always be ready and available to protect me wherever I am.  I do not ask anyone else to be responsible for my safety, only the opportunity to do so.  Please permit me and others who wish to do so and are legally licensed to do so to carry firearms concealed on their persons in Virginia state forests.  It makes no sense that I must leave my concealed firearm at the state forest border line while I can legally carry a much more powerful and deadly hunting rifle openly!  Thank you for your consideration.
