It just makes common snese to allow the legal carry of a firearm for self defense in the forrest, as it does anywhere that there is not a police officer on every street corner to protect a citizen. Self defense does not end at the end of the paved street, be it from a two or four legged animal out to do a body harm.

Unless and untill the laws are so severe that criminals will cease and decist, there must be a deterrent, and the likelyhood of a LEO on site to be that deterrent is between slim and none. Therefor, the right of a citizen to protect themselves and their family must be insured, anywhere they may travel, and that insurance is the Armed Citizen.
