I strongly support the VCDL's petition for repealing the current regulations prohibiting firearms in Virginia state forests. These regulations unreasonably restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens to the means of self-defense--particularly given the rural and isolated nature of many state forests. We should have the same right to protect ourselves in state forests as we do in many other public places--including local government lands & buildings, most other state lands, and the General Assembly Building in Richmond.
