OPPOSE HB 1228 - Do not allow elimination of approved sanctioning bodies

First off, I am an amateur fighter who has competed in events that were sanctioned by all three of the current sanctioning bodies.  I can honestly say that I believe the UCA takes the most steps to care for the safety of fighters.  Their referee's ALWAYS state in the pre-fight meetings that they will always err on the side of caution because fighter safety comes first!  Also, the UCA is not in place to sanctioning for just one promotion...They have sanctioned at least 4 different promotions over the past couple of years and that is saying quite a bit considering there are a limited number of events held in Southwest VA.  I oppose HB 1228 because I strongly believe there needs to be sanctioning bodies in place for each demographic area of the state.  Things are working fine with the three bodies that are approved by the DPOR and this law has only been in effect for 4 months!!  Allowing for one sanctioning body to monopolize the sanctioning for the entire state is bad for the sport and is unethical and this is what the language in HB 1228 does, so I am strongly opposed to this bill!
