Exempt Sport Karate/Judo/Jiu-Jitsu and Amateur Boxing NOW!

According to the following link http://www.commonwealthgames.org/sports-listing/karate

The VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH GAMES will feature YOUTH events in July as they have done since the onset of this event.  Please tell me how they are to do that in accordance with this law as written?  Yes 5 year olds will enter to "point spar" at this event and they will do so safely but now it seems they will hold this event "illegally".  You have made your own Amateur Games... ILLEGAL. Wow.

It is evident the State does not understand the combat arts and have lumped all martial arts and boxing into MIXED MARTIAL ARTS which is unfair and unjust to Boxing, Karate and Jiu-Jitsu events that have ALWAYS included youth competitors througout history.  MMA is totally different and if State Law makers do not understand this, perhaps they should call upon an experienced independent consultant to guide them in making rules and regulations which OBVIOUSLY they know NOTHING about.

Keep the law above for MIXED MARTIAL ARTS- FULL CONTACT EVENTS. Exepmt Amateur Boxing and Sport Martial Art Events such as Tae Kwon Do and the Grappling Arts.

Furthermore OPPOSE HB 1228 before this MESS reproduces and find someone to help the state better understand the various disciplines of the combat sports and martial arts.

This is a mess and it needs cleaned up for the future of safe competitive experiences in Virginia.
