To whom it may concern, the fighting arts are as old as mankind. The rise of sport fighting has allowed participants to test themselves in a controlled environment.  Without sanctioning bodies and standards in place for the protections of competitors safety is left to the people putting on the events. We have been fortunate over the years as promoters understand that ultimately their reputations are at stake. This offers no recourse in the event of an injured combatant. We need common sense but enforceable standards of competition across the fighting arts. Virginia has a rich history in just about every style of fighting competition there is. I urge you to seek out and speak with these masters of their craft and use them in forming the safety standards of the future.
