Oppose HB 1228

Beng  involved in Amatuer Boxing 50 plus years as a Amatuer Boxer, Coach and Administrator, I have witnessed many many success stories. Amatuer Boxing takes the At Risk Youth off the streets and keeps tens of thousands of youth in this Country out of trouble like no other sport. Boxing teaches Discpline, Great Life Lessons and Developes Productive Citizens. This Law will put a tremendous financial burden on families and we may Lose these Kids who have Potential to be Productive Citizens to the Streets. Virginia has Great Life Coaches and Officails that volunteer their Time, Energy and Sacriface to this Program. They sould be Applauded and not have to Close the Gym Doors that they have had Opened for Decades and their Forfathers before them. In closing we ask that you Rethink and Repeal this new law in its Infancy and get back to Common Sense and Allow USA Boxing, Inc. (which has been Approved by Congress under the U.S. Olympic Committee) as the Governing/Sanctioning Body for Amatuer Boxing in America and Virginia as in the past. Thank You.
