Virginia Town Hall Regulatory Action Notice: New VA law for Amateur Boxing Oct. 1, 2015

As a mother of a child that has boxed for years, a trainer, owner, and operator of C4 Boxing Club I am writing to express my deep concerns of the new laws implemented that could potentially be the demise of amateur boxing in the state of Virginia.

I have seen firsthand what these children and young adults go through on a day-to-day basis to achieve their goals and dreams. It is of great concern to me that these new rules will have an adverse effect on our main agenda. As previously stated, as a mother of a child that has competed and someone that works with these kids every day I understand that safety is the number one goal. I also understand that USA Boxing has done an outstanding job implementing training and procedures to ensure our kids safety.

The adverse effect that this rule will cause may not only ruin the sport of amateur boxing in the state of Virginia but may also have a severally damaging effect on these young kid's lives as many of them are in the gym and not the streets. I ask that you please take not only my comments but the many others that have posted and approve USA Boxing as the sanctioning organization for amateur boxing in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Please allow this outstanding organization to continue under their current by-laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!
