There is no reason why a law-abiding person should not be allowed to carry a handgun concealed or open in a forest. If you can legally own the firearm then why tell someone they could not carry it for protection in a forest? If you don't want to carry a firearm then don't. If you'd like to have that additional protection and want to open carry then it should be allowed.
