I urge you to please support lawful carry in Virginia's state forests. As has been shown during the last decade from 160,000 concealed handgun permit holders, the people have nothing to fear from letting law abiding citizens protect themselves. As much as some people like to believe that nothing bad can ever happen, it is not reasonable to think that forests are completely safe from four-legged or two-legged dangers. Those who oppose this measure cite irrational and illogical safety concerns that time has proven simply don't materialize. Having a firearm in the woods does not make a law abiding citizen somehow more likely to commit crime, whether by illegal hunting activities or assaults against other people.
