I am a VA resident and member of Gun Owners of America, NRA, and the VACDL.  I 100% support citizens RIGHT to carry a weapon as granted by the 2nd Amendment in VA state parks.  For those who think there is nothing to fear in state parks, I would humbly remind them of the rapes and murders that have occurred in the blue ridge park system in the past, but that is immaterial - We have the constitutional right to self defense, and if someone else is not comfortable with it - then don't carry! But you will not deprive me of my right to carry and protect myself, just as I won't tell you how to worship or what you can and cannot say. Please end the un-equality in the state parks where a police officer or park ranger are able to protect themselves but others are not.
