I strongly urge you to adopt the measure to allow legal carry of firearms in the State Forests. What is the difference between a forest and the rest of the State? Saying they are banned to prevent poaching is absurd, and poaching is a crime in itself, so only a criminal would be doing it. By definition a criminal is a law breaker, so having a law prohibiting firearms only makes a person more of a criminal, if that is possible. A State resident allowed a CHP has proven to be a law abiding citizen of the State and poses no risk to other law abiding citizens wherever they are. Of course criminals might be in danger, but so what?
