I fully support the right of law-abiding visitors to carry defensive tools in state forests, just as they are allowed to carry them thoughout most other parts of the Commonwealth. People lawfully and responsibly carry handguns in crowded shopping malls, city streets, supermarkets, and elsewhere with an extremely low incidence of problems. In areas as isolated as state forests, with help often a long way away and without reliable communications in some areas,  it is even more important that good people be able to defend themselves should the need arise.
