I support the increase of continuing education hours for LVTs.  I like to believe that yes some techs already do this not because it is at a specific venue or "to get out of work". It should be because it is an important topic that you want to LEARN about.  From personal experience I do get more than 6 hours each year, but I personally want to stay up on new products, ideas and yes its nice to hear what other hospitals do.  I do hope at some point this increase will include practice management.  LVTs are playing this role whether they want to or not.  We need help in this just like veterinarians, we did not go to school to run a hospital, we went because we want to be advocates for our patients.
