I support this effort to protect the Atlantic Menhaden, all of the associated wildlife that depend on menhaden as a forage species, and the overall health of the Chesapeake Bay. The entire Chesapeake Bay and surrounding watershed areas benefits from phytoplankton specific filtration due to menhaden being filter feeders.  This leads to cleaner water and reduces algal blooms in the summer.
