In addition to the scientific evidence that reduced menhaden numbers have affected osprey numbers, the number of striped bass has drastically declined.  My boys ages 10 and 13 have as many rights to fish as the the fishing trawling companies have to argue for quotas.  We want the bay to thrive again and records of menhaden to return.  If the trawling companies felt the same way they would not be taking fish from the Bay but alas it’s all about money and their bottom line.  Virginia needs to put Virginians first and put a stop to the destruction of the menhaden in the Chesapeake bay.
