|Agency Decision||Take no action [Transmittal Sheet]|
|Agency Decision Summary||
The petition and the comments on the petition were considered by the Board at its meeting on Friday, March 15, 2018. Members of the Board voted to deny the petition because they believe delegation of administration of Schedule II through V drugs to unlicensed assistants is not consistent with protection of public health and safety. There is no measure of competency and no direct accountability for practice by an unlicensed person. Additionally, there does not appear to be any authority in the Virginia Drug Control Act for such delegation of administration of controlled substances.
