| Purpose of the meeting The purpose of the meeting is to seek the public's input on a project to improve traffic flow and safety on the section of Interstate 81 in Botetourt County between mile marker 166 and exit 168 and the advancement of this project. The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) will host this required public hearing, pursuant to §33.2-202. VDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The public may review the project information at the public hearing or at VDOT’s Salem District Office located at 731 Harrison Avenue in Salem, 540-387-5353, 1-800-FOR-ROAD, or TTY/TDD 711. The public is asked to call ahead to ensure the availability of appropriate personnel to answer questions. The public is invited to provide written or oral comments at the hearing or submit them by November 7, 2025, to Regan King, Virginia Department of Transportation, 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, VA 24153. Comments may also be emailed to Salem-LDadmin@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Interstate 81 S-Curves Realignment Project” in the subject heading.
