| Purpose of the meeting The Virginia Board of Education will convene on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Lecture Hall on the first floor of the Library of Virginia, 800 East Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23219. The entrance to the building is located on Broad Street. The Library of Virginia opens at 8:30 a.m. All meetings, except closed sessions, are open to the public and will be livestreamed on the VDOE YouTube channel. The Board president reserves the right to change this schedule depending upon the time constraints during the meetings. The Board of Education will convene in a business session, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of convening this meeting is for the Board to go into executive session under ยง 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia. This portion of the meeting will not be livestreamed. Public comment will not be accepted at this time. Board of Education members will break for lunch. No votes will be taken during lunch, and it is open to the public. The Board will convene in a work session at the conclusion of the business meeting or lunch. This portion of the meeting will be livestreamed on the VDOE YouTube channel. Public comment will not be accepted.
