| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing by the Department of Environmental Quality to receive comment on a draft permit modification for the Accomack County Northern Area Sanitary Waste Landfill. Accomack County has applied for a permit modification to expand the Accomack County Northern Area Sanitary Landfill. This modification to the permit would allow Accomack County to incorporate four new Cells to the existing landfill which will be designated as Cells 3 through 6. The proposed expansion adds 21.1 acres of new disposal footprint bringing the total disposal footprint to 42.4 acres. The public comment period begins on December 3, 2016 and ends on January 19, 2017. An informational briefing will be held immediately before the public hearing beginning at 6:00 p.m. | |
