Purpose of the meeting
This is a Steering Committee meeting to introduce the draft Watershed Plan to restore water quality at Fairview Beach to the committee. The purpose of the Steering Committee will be to provide technical review of the document and the presentation for the upcoming public meeting. Fairview Beach (Potomac River) has been identified as impaired on the Clean Water Act §303(d) list for not supporting Virginia’s water quality recreation use standard due to the presence bacteria. The Virginia Department of Health has issued swimming advisories in order to protect the public from possible exposure to bacteria.
