| Purpose of the meeting A public meeting and public comment opportunity on technical issues related to an application to modify an existing Virginia Pollution Abatement Permit issued to Recyc Systems, Inc. to allow the land application of biosolids in Amelia County. Recyc Systems, Inc. has applied to modify an existing permit to authorize the land application of biosolids to an additional 635.7 acres of farmland in Amelia County, VA. Twenty three fields are owned by Chris Tsigaridas, 7 fields are owned by W.H. Townsend. The biosolids will be land applied as a fertilizer at a controlled rate in accordance with a nutrient management plan that will be developed for each site. The applicant proposes to utilize biosolids on farmland without a discharge to surface waters. The public may review the permit application at the public meeting and at the DEQ office named below. | |
