Monument avenue woukld be nothing without the beautiful works oif public art honoring our civil war heros. Especially the staute of Robert E. Lee - a favorite son of VA, and one of the greatest Virginians of all time. It is a disgrace to even consider removing these monuments -- that have never hurt anyone. For over 100 years these monuments have been up on monument avenue, and no one said anything about them being "harmful" before the last couple of years. We need to keep them up to teach out sons and daughters the history of our great state, and the men who come from it.
