Dear Sir,

I accept the responsibility to provide for my own food, water, proper clothing, first aid etc and not to depend on the kindness of starngers nor burden the rangers,  so by the same logic I also have and accept the respnsibility to provide for my own protection.  Please allow me to do so.  Lets be realistic, help is not a few minutes away when you're on the trail.
