Having worked in a veterinary practice for over 6 years, I am in full support of the petition to allow unlicensed veterinary technicans to place IV catheters. With the correct training and guidance from licensed individuals, unlicensed vet techs will create a smoother and more functional area of practice by placing IV catheters for medications and fluids and work as a more effective support staff, benefitting both the patient and the practice.
