As an LVT and pet owner I am OPPOSED. Many have suggested that "properly trained" staff should be allowed the task of placing IV catheters... How do we maintain that training and standard throughout the state and from hospital to hospital? We already have a generalized standard that ensures vet nurses are trained... the VTNE. I've also read comments that suggest this amendment will be helpful in emergencies. Well, if an animal is critical and it's an actual emergency, I would prefer the LVT performs the task and not an unlicensed person. NO.
