LVT's are amazing contributors to the health provision of animals in the Commonwealth. They are exptremely well trained and very capable members of the veterinary health care team. Unfortunately, there are not enough practicng to assist all veterinary hospitals in the state. This amendment will greatly assist those DVMs that can not get an LVT. This means the animals being treated will be better served. I am confident that a motivated and experienced unlicenced tech can be trained to become quite competant and proficient in the placement of peripheral I.V. catheters.
