Oppose the change

I feel that anyone can be trained to do anything but, I fear, this change would be the first step in the lowering of standards toward patient care.  Where does it stop.  If you want more duties then go to school, understand the physiology behind what you are doing, get your license, pay your yearly dues and complete your continuing education, just like LVT's.  Of course it is easier for doctors to have anyone be able to put in a catheter but just because it is easier does not make it better.  Last point, if you need more LVT's then work on ways to get more people educated and pay them a living wage so they can make this a career and not a passing interest.

Thank You
