Placement of IV catheters by vet assistants

I support a trained individual inserting a catheter. I think many pets will sadly go without catheters for routine surgeries if we don't allow assistants to place them to help the doctors do procedures more quickly and carefully. Stay focused on the pet care, not our own needs to "corner the market" on assisting doctors.  It certainly does not mean assistants will be administering anesthesia for the doctor. And it does not mean that LVTs are not essential, professional and wonderful in numerous ways.
