I have worked with several unlicensed techs who were capable of placing IV caths however I value the training and formal education of licensed techs. I am proud of my training and education. I worry that allowing unlicensed techs or veterinary assistants to place IV caths will be the begining of the end - allowing more skills to be done by unlicensed professionals.
