Trigger point dry needling requires extensive additional education to review anatomy, educate on trigger point referral patterns, indications, contraindications, and neurmuscular benefits of the technique. It is a safe and effective treatment for the appropriate patient and I personally have seen tremendous results from my patients. It is in no way considered acupunture, nor do we has clinicians refer to it as acupuncture.
