I do not feel that state forests should be exempt from Virginia law when it comes to carrying a firearm.  There are dangers in state as well as federal wild areas.  These dangers range from the slithering to those on four legs to those on two.  Just because you are in a state park does not mean that dangers magically disappear.  I think it is wise to allow people the option of protecting themselves, whenever and wherever they go.
