A park is usually peaceful, but not a sure refuge from crime. Criminals are not stupid; where they know that law-abiding citizens may be armed, they are less likely to seek prey there.     

Law-abiding citizens have the civil right to keep and bear arms, and "Gun-Free Zones" only tend to make crime easier.
