Lawful carry and possesion of firearms in Virginia state forests should be permitted for law abiding citizens.  Disarming citizens in remote areas leaves them at the mercy of criminals who use public lands to grow drugs or hide other illegal activities.  Contrary to the first poster's myopic and naive views, there is more to fear in the forest than lons and tigers and bears.  When a person is hours from civilization and a 2 legged predator attacks, the police are hours if not days away.  Citizens DO have the right to protect themselves and SHOULD have any legal means available that they wish.

Legalize carry of lawful firearms in VA forests.  The bad guys already have them and ignore the useless law.
