I am a Va resident and backpack all the time in Va parks. I would sleep a little better at night with it. I once ran in to a poacher who had killed a deer. He did not care that he was not allowed to hunt in that area nor did he care that he was in violation of the law with the gun. HE DID CARE THAT I SAW HIM! And in the middle of the woods that can be deadly.
