I can only see alarmist views being a cause for all the proposed restrictions on the possession of a firearm. Shall we simply assume the public is so inept as to routinely commit crimes just because they have possession of a gun? That is hardly the case when other deadly implements like cars of a doctor’s prescription pad are used. Trust of the citizens is certainly warranted in this case and to betray that trust will have long lasting effects that tear at the fabric of our communities.
