The right to defend yourself and your family is a fundamental right that should never be infringed. Virginia has some of the strongest pro-defense laws in the country because we as Virginians believe in a person's ability to defend themselves. We need to create a solid, consistent set of laws across all of Virginia, including the state parks. Those who carry concealed with a permit and those who openly carry are statistically among the most law-abiding citizens of the country with the lowest crime rate.

Criminals who secretly carry firearms don't care whether it's allowed or not; they are criminals and will continue to break laws. Since criminals have already proven to not care about the laws, the only people hurt by restricting firearms are the victims of these criminals. Any criminal act you can comprehend already has numerous laws making it illegal. The lawful act to protect yourself and your family should never be included in our laws.
