Danger and criminal acts do not observe boundaries or borders. My right to self-defense in the face of wild animals, accidentally stumbling across a remote meth lab while hiking or any of the other myriad crimes committed on public lands does not suspend itself either.
The nonsensical rants of the few anti-gun comments so far would have you imagine that our current right to carry everywhere else in the Commonwealth would suddenly morph into wild eyed shooting sprees for simply crossing a boundary into a state forest. There is no such compulsion for simply transiting forested land. No law-abiding citizen is any danger whatsoever from those of us who carry. The record shows that lawful concealed carriers are probably the most law-abiding population group at times even exceeding that of law enforcement.
