Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes
Background: The Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Relocation Plan builds upon 22 VAC 30-110-40 and provides guidance for local departments of social services (LDSS) and community partners regarding the implementation of a safe and efficient plan to relocate adults when an ALF closes. The proposed changes to the ALF Relocation Plan are summarized below: • Ensured appropriate use of acronyms and defined acronyms. • Revised and/or relocated content within document to improve clarity and ensure guidance was concise. • Struck duplicative or repetitive content throughout document. • Ensured references to APS Division staff were accurate. • Struck sample letters and forms. These documents have been relocated to the DSS intranet. • Clarified procedures for opening an Adult Protective Services (APS) case. (Section 16.4)
