I fully support the proposal to add ALD to the newborn screening. My fiance recently found out she is a carrier of the ALD mutation,. With ALD on the screening panel, newborns and their parents will be able to begin all necessary treatments and precautions immediately so that the newborn can have every opportunity possible to fight this unpredictable disease.
