Strongly Opposed - Dangerous for Both Cis and non-binary Children
I am strongly opposed. Not only is it not safe for cis-gender students, but for non-binary students as well. Cis-gender students may feel uncomfortable in the bathroom or locker room when a member of the opposite biological sex enters. Cis-gender students may not know without doubt that the other student identifies truly as non-binary. Students who identify as non-binary are at risk of being accused of falsifying their identities to gain entrance to bathrooms and locker rooms of the opposite biological sex. Students who identify as non-binary risk bodily harm when entering bathrooms and locker rooms of the opposite biological sex. I believe that non-binary individuals should be loved, supported, and accepted in our community, but not by adding risk to themselves as well as cis-gender individuals. There must be another way to practice inclusivity for the non-binary population without excluding cis-gender individuals.
