Every student should have a right to a safe and supportive environment at school. And I hear that many in the LGBTQ community don't get the support they need nor do they feel safe. They have the right just like every other person to safety and supportive environment. It doesn't matter what I believe or don't. Just as I wanted to be treated with care, they should to. Maybe one day we will be in a society where we don't have to spell this out. But we are not there yet. So we need this Bill & measures.
It breaks my heart to read each episode of LGBTQ victimization, such as physical or verbal harassment or abuse, increases the likelihood of self-harming behavior by 2.5 times on average. That's not OK and we should so what we can to help.
