Protect Children Struggling with Mental Health Issues by Opposing This
I believe those struggling with gender dysphoria greatly need help and support. But by treating them as if they are completely normal only hurts them. There are countless examples of people who have gone through a sex change and have greatly regretted it. These individuals need help and need to be protected by not making this a "normal" thing. Any other mental illness has many options for counseling and help.
True love does not turn a blind eye nor does it support an individual in the guise of acceptance/tolerance while that person is doing something harmful to themselves. By truly loving another person, one wishes what is best for that person. Good parents will seek medical attention for their child if he is struggling with schizophrenia. Parents who tell their child that their condition is completely normal and don't seek medical help are not helping their child. The same logic applies to people struggling with gender dysphoria. Let parents be parents and make these decisions for their children. I do not want the state to decide when my child learns about this because they do not know my child.
