Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Absolutely opposed - extremely destructive to kids and families?

I am absolutely opposed to the proposed policy changes!  Children are not made "safer" by the schools throwing them into gender confusion that they are neither ready to handle developmentally nor even thinking about unless prompted by agenda-driven adults.

This proposed policy represents continued interference by government and school related officials with families who hold to deeply held religious values.  It leaves schools in the position of being dishonest with parents and in a sense, so devaluing the role of parents, that they (the public schools) see themselves as the sole arbiter of what the student should or should not believe.  This is not a position that has been granted by parents, or God Himself.  Parents should not be bypassed for the sake of an agenda driven false notion of "safety."  This policy presumes, in reality, that parents do not have their own children's safety at heart or that they are capable or able to direct their children to healthy decisions.  This is a pompous assumption by our school administrators.  This is something I would expect to see coming out of Soviet Russia, not the United States of America.

The public schools should spend more time focusing on adequately educating students in learning and how to learn as opposed to trying to reach into areas of social life with which they have no reason to participate.  I am absolutely opposed to this! No! No! No!
