In education (and life) we have recognized (for all of human civilization up until now) that children need to learn reality and there are certain things that they may think "good" for them that in REALITY aren't good. Parents have also been recognized as the authority in a child's life. This isn't given by the state, this authority is God-given. Yes, there are abuses to this authority, however, and in our society we have fought against these abuses. However, the best answer is NOT to remove parental authority and invest that authority in the education system. The re-defining of what a man is and what a woman is, is in direct conflict with the order of creation and will have vast consequences. We are fooling ourselves if we think that a "good" response to help confused children is to affirm whatever they are believing about themselves. I plead with lawmakers to remove this dangerous legislation from consideration.
