Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Virginia School Transgender Polices: DONT DO IT

Dear Virginia Department of Education:

During this COVID situation, there are many people who use the mantra "follow the science" and then, they never follow the science.  Public policies have not been made based upon peer reviewed medical studies or evidence based medicine but upon fear and non-science.  America has not even had a "public debate" over what really works and what does not...and if we are to be a body politic, public discourse that deals in real facts that are observable/provable needs to happen.

And now, we are being threatened with more pseudo-science and unproven psychological theories that will be a direct threat to the well being of children and families.

Do you really believe that a man can have a baby? Can a man have a period? Are you going to encourage young people to pursue sex changes, knowing that the majority of kids with gender dysphoria grow out of this mindset once they are into adulthood?  If a pregnant "person" appears in the emergency room and declares herself to be a man, are you going to demand/force that the medical staff treat the pregnant woman as a man, thus endangering the child???????  If you don't treat the woman as a man, can the woman sue because the medical staff treated her according to her "true, DNA identity?"  Would you be happy for this to happen?  I sure hope not!

This is pure insanity.

Do we really want to encourage people with psychological disorders by giving them legal rights to trample upon everyone and ruin their lives, all because we are afraid to say "THIS IS WRONG."  There have only been two sexes in the history of the world and Bruce Jenner will always be a man, whatever name he wants to be called by.

Obviously, this is going to be an emotional discussion.  But let it also be a scientific (real medical knowledge please, not psychology) and logical.  And even though this is asking for a whole lot, the "morality" of encouraging people to be something that they are not must also be discussed.  This is not moral to perpetuate fraud.

I realize that humans want to be completely in control of their "identity", but God and nature have assigned identity to people whether they like it or not. To deny this is to open up a Pandora's Box scenario that will harm children (boys in a female locker room, or vice versa...you know this is not going to end well) and such policies will cause far more harm  than good.

It really is common sense.  But,  such is rare these days.

Please insist that male and female are real,  and please do not make policies that give the transgender activists power to ruin the lives of students and good, honest families.
