I strongly support Executive Order 50, banning firearms from public buildings. People who work in, visit, and maintain public buildings have a right to be safe from gun violence. Banning guns will make all government workplaces more secure. In particular, this order will:

1. prevent gun violence directed at state employees

2. empower state employees to feel safe and do their best work

3. improve hiring for state employees, since candidates will know they will have a safe workplace

As a state employee, I wholeheartedly endorse this order, and know that I and my colleagues want out workplace to be gun-free!
