Who decides?
Who decides?
I am concerned as to what is deemed "inappropriate" and who will decide. There are myriad variables that dictate a teacher's selection of literature. To restrict any selection of academic literature for all students based on the sensitivities of a few seems punative, uninformed and reactionary.
While parents and students should be informed in a class syllabus as to what works will be studied, the instructional goals and materials facilitating the acheivement of those goals need to remain with professional educators.
